MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, all offices in Marion City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 15, 2024. Despite the closure, several departments within the City of Marion will continue to operate as usual.

The Sanitation Department will carry out its regular garbage and recycling collection on Monday. Residents who typically have their refuse collected on Mondays are requested to have their collections at curbside by 7:00 a.m.

In addition, the Marion Area Transit will maintain its regular schedule, providing bus service throughout the day. Similarly, the Marion Senior Center will remain open, with transportation services available for seniors in the area.

Essential services, including the Fire Department, Police Department, and the Marion Municipal Airport, will operate as per their usual schedule.

Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly for the holiday closure and to utilize the city’s services that will remain in operation. The city offices will resume their regular hours on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
