MARION COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Nature lovers and families in Marion County can look forward to a week of outdoor exploration and hands-on creativity with a series of community events hosted by the Marion County Park District.
Plant Walk at Terradise Nature Preserve
On Tuesday, July 8 at 5:00 p.m., visitors are invited to Terradise Nature Preserve for a Plant Walk. This guided stroll offers a chance to discover the native plant species thriving in the preserve. Participants will learn about local flora and their roles in the ecosystem.
Craft Project at Marion Tallgrass Trail
The following evening, Wednesday, July 9 at 6:00 p.m., the Marion Tallgrass Trail will host a magnet craft project. This family-friendly event encourages creativity as attendees design and create their own nature-inspired magnets.
Kiddos at the Park
On Friday, July 11 at 10:00 a.m., children ages 3 to 6 can take part in Kiddos at the Park, also at Marion Tallgrass Trail. This program introduces young explorers to the wonders of nature through interactive activities. Registration is required, with only 15 spots available per session. Registration opens the Sunday prior at 1:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis via the organization’s social media platforms. Confirmation will be sent upon successful registration.
Night Hike at the Park
Later that evening, at 9:30 p.m., the trail will transform for a Night Hike at the Park. Participants will explore science in the dark and enjoy a unique nighttime adventure. Attendees are asked to bring a red flashlight or headlamp to preserve night vision and enhance the experience.
