MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Just after midnight this morning, Marion Police Officer Doubikin initiated a traffic stop for a moving violation in which the driver failed to pull over promptly, taking nearly two blocks to come to a stop. Officer Greer arrived to assist with the situation.

During the initial contact, Officer Doubikin requested a canine unit, and Officer Kelly, along with his partner, Shanel, responded to the scene. The canine alerted officers to the presence of contraband in the vehicle.

A probable cause search was conducted, revealing approximately 108 grams of methamphetamine and eight Schedule II pills concealed in a backpack.
A passenger in the vehicle was arrested for possession of the drugs. Officers Kent and Lt. Jagger also provided assistance during the stop.
