COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Sunday, July 27, marks Veterans & Military Day at the Ohio State Fair, honoring those who have served and are currently serving. Veterans and active military personnel receive free admission today and throughout the duration of the fair with valid identification.
Fairgoers can enjoy a wide array of attractions and entertainment. For family fun, Louie Foxx’s one-man comedy and magic show promises laughs. Music enthusiasts can catch the Chuck Starr Band for pop and R&B hits at the Taste of Ohio Stage, presented by Ohio Environmental Council. The Cincinnati Circus Company Show will also showcase skilled performances at the south end of the Mountain Dew Midway.
Animal lovers have several shows to look forward to, including Retriever Dogs in Action! presented by Rural 1st, at the Natural Resources Park Amphitheater at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Ag-Pro Companies Taft Coliseum will host the Mid-Ohio Marauders Wild West Horseback Riding shows and the Renegade Equestrian Team and Trick Riding. Additionally, Pig Races will run throughout the day in The Barnyard.
In the realm of arts, Kasich Hall will feature demonstrations, and the Cardinal Patio will host the final day of the live Mural Painting Competition from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., culminating in an awards presentation at 5 p.m.
Livestock competitions are also a highlight, with the Guys and Gals Lead Line Sheep Show at 10 a.m. in the Brown Sheep Building, presented by Kubota, followed by a Sheep Shearing Demonstration and Junior and Open Wool Sheep Show at 2 p.m.
For music fans, the Ohio State Fair Concert Series presents “Let’s Sing: Taylor,” a Taylor Swift tribute performance tonight at 7 p.m. in the WCOL Celeste Center. This free concert is included with fair admission.
Fairgoers are permitted to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages, though glass bottles and containers are prohibited.
