MOUNT GILEAD, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—AgCredit is expanding its lending services with the launch of a new First-Time Home Buyers program aimed at increasing access to homeownership in rural areas.

Neeta Shuff, a loan officer with AgCredit, confirmed the new program offers borrowers up to 97% financing, requiring only a 3% down payment. The program is available for individuals who have not owned a home in the last three years, regardless of previous ownership history.

Shuff stressed that AgCredit, while commonly associated with farm loans, is a dedicated rural home loan lender, and all financed properties must be located outside of city limits. The loan process requires standard financial documentation, including tax returns, pay stubs, and bank statements, and applicants can get pre-qualified before beginning their house search.

Interested borrowers can find more information and apply online at agcredit.net or contact their local AgCredit office. Shuff covers the Marion, Morrow (Mount Gilead), and Crawford (Bucyrus) county branches.
