MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The American Red Cross is inviting the public to donate blood at an upcoming drive scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 4, at Kingston in Marion. The drive will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Community members are encouraged to participate and give what the organization calls the “gift of life,” especially as the holiday season often presents challenges for maintaining a stable blood supply.
Appointments can be scheduled in advance by visiting the official Red Cross website at redcrossblood.org. However, walk-ins will also be welcomed at the Kingston location throughout the donation period.
Blood donations are vital for accident victims, burn patients, heart surgery patients, organ transplant recipients, and those receiving treatment for cancer. A single donation can help save up to three lives.
The Red Cross stresses that while scheduling an appointment helps manage donor flow, the primary need is for the donation itself. Donors should ensure they meet basic eligibility requirements and bring a donor card or driver’s license upon arrival.
