MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion will kick off its holiday season this weekend with a packed schedule of events, highlighted by Saturday’s Lighted Truck Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting downtown.
The festivities begin Friday with post-Thanksgiving activities, including the Turkey Late Skate at Zoomers Skate Club from 6 to 11 p.m., and a Day-After-Thanksgiving DJ Dance Party at The OK Café starting at 8 p.m.
Saturday marks Small Business Saturday and the city’s official holiday kickoff. The 3rd Annual Christmas Market runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Brickyard on Main, followed by the Lighted Truck Parade at 6 p.m., ending at Founders Park for the tree lighting ceremony. Other highlights include a pie bake-off at Oscar’s Bar & Grill and the opening night of Christmas By Candlelight at the Marion County Fairgrounds.
Sunday closes the weekend with the Marion Civic Chorus’ 83rd presentation of Handel’s Messiah at Epworth United Methodist Church at 7 p.m., alongside continued holiday light displays.
