MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion Goodwill Industries is excited to announce the grand opening of its first-ever Goodwill Outlet Store, located within its corporate headquarters in Marion. The outlet store is designed to offer shoppers the opportunity to purchase merchandise by the pound at significantly reduced prices.

Items are priced at $1.89 per pound, while books are available for just 59 cents per pound. Large items and furniture are individually priced. The concept behind the new Goodwill Outlet Store is to give unsold items from Goodwill stores a second chance, catering to shoppers who still see their value.

Marion Goodwill Industries is committed to helping people with disabilities and other employment barriers find jobs. The new Goodwill Outlet Store will provide an additional avenue for generous Goodwill donations to support this mission, aptly named “Building Lives That Work.”

In addition to supporting Goodwill’s mission, the new outlet store will also contribute to Goodwill’s recycling and salvage operation. Last year, Marion Goodwill recycled more than 3,850,000 pounds of plastics, metals, cardboard, and textiles.

The merchandise bins, including book bins, are rotated every few hours. Bins are removed from the sales floor and replaced with a completely different selection of merchandise. This means that daily shoppers at the new Goodwill Outlet store will have the opportunity for fresh finds several times throughout the day.

The new Goodwill Outlet store is located at 340 W. Fairground Street in Marion and is open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information about the new Goodwill Outlet Store, visit mariongoodwill.org/shop.
