MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The United Way of North Central Ohio (UWNCO) announced the addition of Heath Ring to its development team, effective Dec. 1. Ring assumed the role of development director, focusing his efforts on Marion County.

In his new position, Ring will manage workplace campaigns with local businesses, coordinate fundraising initiatives, and develop relationships with donors and community impact partners across Marion County.

Ring is a lifelong Marion native with deep connections in the community. He is a graduate of Pleasant High School and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Toledo in 2005. He and his wife, Angie, have two children and a six-year-old grandson.

“I’ve spent my life in Marion County,” Ring said. “I was raised in a family grounded in the principle of service to others, and I’m happy I’m able to earn a living while making a real difference in the lives of others. I’m looking forward to getting out in the community, catching up with old friends, and forging new relationships.”

UWNCO CEO Amber Wertman expressed enthusiasm for the new hire.

“Heath was born and raised in Marion County and has widespread family and professional connections throughout the community,” Wertman said. “Having worked with him in his previous role as executive director of Heart of Ohio Homeless Shelter, our team is familiar with the commitment and focus Heath brings to his work, and we are all excited to have him on board!”

Ring joins a dedicated team of development directors at UWNCO. Nikki Distel covers Seneca and Wyandot counties from the Tiffin office, and Beth Anne Jarvis focuses on Crawford and Morrow counties.

The development team is currently promoting their last fundraiser of the year, the UWNCO Holiday Gift Raffle, which runs through Dec. 30. Proceeds from the raffle will boost mid-year Community Campaign results. The United Way of North Central Ohio Community Campaign raises funds to support over 60 nonprofit partners across Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Seneca, and Wyandot counties.
