MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The City of Marion announced it will officially launch its own Commercial Building Department on Feb. 1, 2026, marking a significant shift for local developers who previously worked directly with the State of Ohio for commercial permits and inspections.
To facilitate the transition, city officials will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 5:30 p.m. The session will take place in Courtroom 1 on the second floor of City Hall, located at 233 W. Center St. Please come prepared with questions you may have as time will be limited.
City leadership is encouraging anyone involved in the development, construction, or rehabilitation of commercial structures within city limits to attend.
