MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)— “Creating connections one cup at a time” is the mission of The Remnant Tea & Coffee, a growing and influential business in Downtown Marion. Located at 187 W. Center Street, The Remnant has become a hub for community connection.

Owners Abigail & Jeff Jordan, supported by Abigail’s parents, Jamie & Brian Riffe, are on a mission to bring Marion together. “We started The Remnant to nurture connections for the benefit of everyone,” states Abigail. “As a Christ-centered business, we want to see everyone enjoy connecting to build a stronger community.”

On any given day, The Remnant buzzes with activity. Business meetings, Bible studies, ladies groups, home groups, and friends hanging out are common sights. One group that has organically grown is a group of middle school boys. “One or two boys started hanging out here, and now there are 16,” says Abigail. “We enjoy creating a homey environment for groups to enjoy.”

The Remnant has big plans for the future. They aim to create more outdoor seating, develop meeting space for larger groups, open a food market, and a “refillery” and tea shop.

Downtown Marion is undergoing a transformation and renaissance. The historic and upscale downtown area is walkable, with convenient and plentiful parking. Visitors appreciate the character of old buildings, exposed brick, architectural features, hardwood floors, window storefronts, tin ceilings, vintage lighting, and outdoor murals combined with trendy decor.

Ultimately, what makes Downtown Marion so great is the people. The people who love their city and are friendly, inviting, respectful, helpful, happy, and connecting together. “We love our city, and we invite others to join with us,” states Abigail.
