MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A New Washington woman with years of experience in the medical field is pursuing a new career path by starting her own beauty business in downtown Marion.
Rebecca Warren, an advanced esthetician, is opening Phoenix Esthetics at 228 S. State Street, located inside the Hive Beauty Bar. New clients are being accepted starting Thursday, April 11.
“I’m excited and I’m anxious and I’m nervous,” said Warren, who graduated in March from the Elite School of Cosmetology in Norwalk. “I want to hit the ground running and not look back. I want to grow this into something and build my business and grow.”
Phoenix Esthetics will initially offer an array of facials, waxing services, and eyebrow and eyelash lifts, tints, and laminations, Warren said. Down the road, microblading, chemical peels, and other cosmetic procedures will also be available, she said.
“I have a lot of options, but for the most part everything I do in life is centered around helping people,” said Warren. “When, as a woman, you feel better about yourself and your image, you generally feel better about life.”
Warren, 36, attended Wynford High School and has worked as a phlebotomist and as an EMT after graduating from Tri-Rivers Career Center in Marion. She holds dozens of certifications and is currently a pharmacy technician at Discount Drug Mart in Galion.
The new business will be a tribute to her son, Seth, who was only six years old when he died in 2015 from Batten disease, a rare and fatal disease of the nervous system. The name, she said, was chosen because “phoenix” symbolizes immortality and resurrection.
“For me, that’s why I came up with the Phoenix Esthetics name because it meant more, and the meaning behind the name,” Warren said. “I just try to be better and do better and help people by offering services to make them feel better.”
Phoenix Esthetics will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 419-617-2470 or online.
