Dixon G. Ericson, age 63 of Marion, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at Marion General Hospital. On October 7, 1960, he was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Herman Ericson II and Martha L. (Francis) Ericson, and in July of 2000, he married his loving wife Maretha (Thornberry).
Dixon worked as a graphic designer for Folks Printing for 30 years. He loved his church, Shield of Faith Christian Center, and he also enjoyed music, camping, and cooking. He was known for his famous pizza. He was an expert with computers, having helped out with the sound system at his church, and an avid jokester who loved to laugh. Above all else, he loved his children and his grandchildren, and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife Maretha Ericson; his sons Joshua (Emilee) Kibler and Daniel Ericson; his brother Herman (Sherri) Ericson III; his sisters Martha E. Tabor, Cynthia MacCready, and Corrine Ericson; his granddaughters Kalani and Kalliope Ericson; and several stepsiblings, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Martha.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10 am to 12 pm at Shield of Faith Christian Center, 404 N. Greenwood St., Marion. Services will take place at 12 pm at the church. Burial will follow at Chapel Heights Cemetery.
