Marion Firefighters respond to structure fire on Ballentine Avenue

Marion Fire and Marion Township crews responded to a fatal house fire on Ballentine Avenue this morning, which left one person injured and several pets deceased.

MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Friday morning, firefighters from Marion responded to a structure fire located in the 400 block of Ballentine Avenue.

Upon receiving the call, the Marion Township Fire Department provided automatic aid to assist in battling the blaze.

During the incident, one occupant sustained injuries and was promptly transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment. Tragically, several dogs belonging to the occupants lost their lives in the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
