UNION COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 3:57 p.m., the Union County Sheriff’s Office 911 Communications Center was alerted to multiple reports of an injury crash at the intersection of State Route 4 and Kaiser Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found a 2015 Peterbilt tow truck, operated by Kirby’s Towing of Richwood, Ohio, off the east side of the roadway near a wooded area. Authorities were informed of three additional vehicles involved in the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a 2017 Jeep Compass was stopped in the southbound lane of State Route 4, preparing to turn left onto Kaiser Road. The tow truck reportedly failed to stop in time, striking the rear of the Jeep. The impact caused the tow truck to veer left into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a 2020 Ford F-150 before impacting a 2011 Acura TL.
The driver of the Acura, a 63-year-old woman from Prospect, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel. The Union County Coroner’s Office has been called to assist with the investigation.
The tow truck driver was taken to Memorial Hospital in Marysville for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, while the drivers of the Jeep and Ford F-150 were reported uninjured.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office received assistance at the scene from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Union County Coroner’s Office, and the Northwestern Fire District, along with the Northern Union County Fire and EMS.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with further details to be released as they become available.
