MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion County Fair has issued a critical safety notice following a serious medical incident involving an unsupervised juvenile on the fairgrounds.
In response to the incident, fair officials are reminding visitors that the fair’s youth supervision policy is now in effect.
Effective immediately, all children younger than 15 must be accompanied by a responsible adult while on the fairgrounds. Officials said the policy is intended to ensure the safety and well-being of all visitors, noting that large gatherings can present unforeseen circumstances where adult supervision is essential.
The Marion County Fair maintains a zero-tolerance policy for illegal drugs, alcohol-related violations, disorderly conduct and any behavior that threatens the safety of attendees. Law enforcement officers and fair security personnel will continue to actively monitor the grounds. Anyone found violating fair rules or the law will be removed from the fairgrounds and may face additional legal consequences.
Fair officials are urging parents and guardians to take an active role in supervising their children to help maintain a safe, family-friendly environment for all visitors.
“We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our community as we work together to keep the Marion County Fair a safe place for everyone,” a fair representative said.
