MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A vacant seat on Marion City Council is opening the door for a qualified Sixth Ward resident to take a more active role in shaping the future of the community.

Marion City Council is accepting resumes from individuals interested in being considered for appointment to the Sixth Ward seat, which became vacant following the resignation of William Dichtl.

What Applicants Need to Know

Individuals interested in being considered should submit a resume outlining their qualifications, experience, and interest in serving the residents of the Sixth Ward.

The deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2026. Resumes received after the deadline may not be considered, so interested residents are encouraged to submit their materials in advance.
