MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A Columbus man is in custody following a fatal stabbing on the night of August 19 in Marion County that left one woman dead and another hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a stabbing in the 1800-block of Twin Lakes Drive at approximately 9:27 p.m. 

Upon arrival, authorities discovered 31-year-old Taylor Rae Coleman of Columbus deceased at the scene. A second victim, a 50-year-old woman, was treated by Marion Township Fire personnel before being transported to Marion General Hospital. She was subsequently flown to a hospital in Columbus for further treatment. Her identity is not being disclosed at this time.

The suspect, 41-year-old Donald Alan Adams of Columbus, fled the scene following the incident but was later apprehended by Delaware City Police. 

Adams has been returned to Marion County and is currently being held at the Marion-Hardin Multi-County Jail on a charge of murder. Additional charges are expected to be filed following a review by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office credited the apprehension to a multi-agency collaborative effort involving the Marion City Police Department, Marion Township Fire Department, Delaware City Police Department, the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the BCI Crime Scene Unit, and the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
