MARION, OHIO (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A MedCare crew was involved in a significant motor vehicle collision late Friday night in north central Ohio.
In a statement following the incident, Michael Perkins, Chief Operating Officer of MedCare, stated that the company’s primary focus is currently on the recovery and support of the involved team members.
“We spend our careers showing up for other people’s worst days,” Perkins said. “Last night this community showed up for ours, and they did it without hesitation.”
Perkins expressed deep gratitude to the numerous agencies and individuals who responded to the scene, including the MedComm team, MedCare leadership and support staff, MedFlight 4 and MedFlight 5, and the Marion County dispatchers.
Support also arrived from the First Consolidated Fire District, Pleasant Township Fire Department, Battle Run Fire District, Marion Township Fire Department, and Fort Morrow Fire District. Additionally, Perkins acknowledged the critical assistance provided by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, and the medical team at OhioHealth Marion General.
Out of respect for the privacy of the crew members and their families, MedCare has announced that no further details regarding the collision will be released at this time.
