MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Marion Mayor Bill Collins is responding to an inaccurate social media post suggesting he would not seek reelection.
In an exclusive statement to Marion County Now, Collins said, “At this point I have no intention of not running for another term, still lots to get done.”
Collins, a Republican, became mayor of Marion on January 1, 2024, after winning the 2023 election. A veteran and former Marion police chief, he recently requested state assistance that led the Ohio Auditor’s Office to declare a fiscal emergency for the city in July 2026.
