Longtime Bucyrus printing company broadens services

MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A local printing company is pursuing yet another path as a promotional products distributer.
A-1 Printing, 825 S. Sandusky Avenue, is now a one-stop source of more than one million promotional items – ad specialties that businesses can give away at trade shows and other special events.
“A lot of people think of us as a little print shop, but that’s not really what we do here,” said A-1manager Sarah Lehnhart. “We do commercial work, and we work with other businesses.”
The company, a member of the Advertising Specialty Institute, can eliminate the hassle of shopping around for holiday gifts and other promotional merchandise, she said.
Except for apparel, area businesses can call A-1 to advertise their logos on pens, mugs, can koozies, stress balls, and thousands of other promotional products, she said.
In addition, A-1 Printing has recently added bulk mailings to its list of services, Lehnhart said, while other mailings such as newsletters or postcards can be printed using customer lists or databases.
With six printing machines and a 3,600-square-foot facility, the team at A-1Printing is also equipped to design websites for companies that are both unique and mobile-friendly, Lehnhart said.
The company – founded in 1983 by Sylvester Johnson – was owned by Dan and Barb Price from 2001 to 2019. It was then purchased by Margaret Lucius, who is Lehnhart’s mother.
The shop, which has another location in Upper Sandusky, is also busy churning out everything from business cards to banners, plus catalogs, calendars, brochures, posters, and flyers, while providing the graphic design needed for each job.
Team members, Lehnhart said, are also experienced in marketing – press kits, presentation folders, and even annual reports for companies that can be printed on the premises.
“The most common thing we hear from people is, ‘I didn’t know you did that,’” she said. “So just ask and we probably do it.”
