Speaking Volumes with Jane Smiley, the Marion Public Library is hosting the Speaking Volumes event on Friday, October 18, 2024, featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jane Smiley. The 3rd Annual Chucks and Pearls Fundraiser will be held on Friday, at The Barn at All Occasions in Waldo. This year’s event features Purse Bingo, a fun and engaging way to support local causes. Big Tent Event and Nursing 5K at Marion Technical College on Saturday, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The event kicks off with the 10th Annual Nursing 5K at 9:30 AM., followed by a day filled with food trucks, live music, fishing, bouncy houses, face painting, mascots, and raffles. The event is a great way to support the college’s nursing program and enjoy a day of family-friendly activities.
