Susan “Sue” Elaine Murphy, age 71, passed away in the care of Tranquility Hospice at the Embassy of Marion on October 14, 2024. Born to John Holbert Hamm and Isabelle Jacobs in 1953, she went on to graduate high school before becoming a lifelong home maker.
Susan was a major fan of wrestling, especially Randy Orton, and loved Stitch. She was fond of watching her soap operas. One thing that she treasured more than anything was her time with family, to her family was everything.
Preceding her in death are her parents, John and Isabelle, her brothers, Robert “Bob”, Harold, Herman, Roy, Dale, and James “Jimmy” Hamm, her sister, Bernice Jordan, and three of her grandchildren.
Left behind to remember her are her sons, Michael (Juley) and Kelly (Nevey) Young, her daughter, Dawn (Randy Harper) Shrader, her brother, Marion Hamm, her 9 grandchildren, her 4 great grand-children, and her close friend, Kris Stansberry.

Calling hours at the Boyd Funeral Home are on October 22, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm. Her service will take place at 7pm after calling hours with Pastor Scott Sloan officiating. Her burial will take place at Chapel Heights at a later date.
