UPPER SANDUSKY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Upper Sandusky High School Gym was filled with students from every school in the district—High School, Union, East, South, and St. Pete’s—as over 1,600 students and staff celebrated Veterans Day with nearly 100 local veterans as honored guests.
The program opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. Elementary students sang “See the Veterans,” and selected students from Kindergarten through High School read essays expressing their gratitude and respect for veterans. The students also performed “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” and “America the Beautiful.” The program concluded with a moment of silence and the playing of Taps.
With a full gymnasium, it was a powerful display of collective gratitude from the students, community, and veterans, showcasing the appreciation for those who have served and a vision of hope for the future and the young people in the community.
