MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Officer Lowry of the Marion Police Department stopped a vehicle Monday night for an equipment violation and recognized a passenger as a male who had previously fled from officers. According to the Marion, Ohio Police Department Facebook page, the suspect, known to have multiple warrants including a felony parole warrant, attempted to flee again but was quickly apprehended with the assistance of Officer Starrs.

During the arrest, the suspect attempted to dispose of a bag containing methamphetamine and crack cocaine, spilling it in the patrol vehicle and later at the jail. Another passenger was found in possession of meth and a meth pipe and was arrested without incident.

Charges including tampering, possession, resisting, felony obstructing, illegal conveyance into a detention facility, and drug paraphernalia have been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office. The Marion Police Department commended the swift actions of their second and third shift officers
