CRAWFORD/MARION COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The United Way of North Central Ohio has expanded its reach to serve five counties, including Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Wyandot, and Seneca. This expansion aims to address the growing needs in these rural areas by pooling resources and strengthening community support.

Amber Wertman, CEO, United Way of North Central Ohio, emphasized the importance of this expansion during a recent interview. “We really are stronger together, especially in our smaller rural areas where there’s a lot of need and sometimes not enough resources,” she said.

The organization is currently in the midst of its annual campaign, with 54% of the goal already achieved. Development Officer Angie Voll highlighted the importance of community support and encouraged continued donations and volunteer efforts. “We are about 50% of the way through our campaign, and we always want to exceed our goal,” Voll said.

In addition to fundraising, the United Way is planning several events, including the “Raise a Glass” appreciation events in each county and the annual Purse Bingo event, which will be held in June this year.

The United Way of North Central Ohio continues to support various community programs and initiatives, ensuring that resources are available to those in need across all five counties. For more information or to get involved, visit their website at unitedwaynco.org.
