MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—On 9/13/2024, school staff at Grant Middle School were alerted that a student was in possession of what appeared to be a handgun. The staff notified the School Resource Officer, who confirmed that it was, in fact, a handgun. The School Resource Officer was able to take possession of it without incident. The student was arrested for illegal possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and carrying a concealed weapon. The investigation into how the student came into possession of the gun is still ongoing. Marion County Now will continue to cover this breaking news story.
