MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Downtown Marion is set to come alive once again with the return of the popular 3rd Thursdays event series, running from May through September. These community-centered events transform the downtown area into a vibrant hub of activity, attracting both locals and visitors.

The season kicks off on Thursday, May 15, with a “Spring Fling” theme. Attendees can look forward to live performances from local bands, a dedicated Kids’ Play Zone, and a wide variety of food and drink options from area eateries and vendors

Participating downtown businesses, including boutiques, restaurants, and bars, will stay open late, adding to the festive atmosphere

A key feature of 3rd Thursdays is the highlighting of Marion’s Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), which allows visitors to enjoy beverages purchased from participating establishments while exploring the festivities

The event has become an integral part of Downtown Marion’s cultural identity, reinforcing its role as a social and entertainment destination.

This year, North Central Ohio Media Group will be present with their Marion County Now team, providing coverage and engaging with the community. Marion County Now, known for its comprehensive local news coverage, will offer updates and interviews at the event.

The schedule for 2025 includes:

  • May 15 – Spring Fling
  • June 19 – Art in the Street
  • July 17 – Christmas in July
  • August 21 – Back to School
  • September 18 – BBQ

Each event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., offering a mix of live music, kids’ activities, vendor tents, and food trucks

This year’s events promise to be even bigger, featuring free bounce houses and interactive inflatables for children, a diverse selection of food trucks, and performances from talented local bands
