COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Central Ohio residents to register for its 2025 Walks to End Alzheimer’s, which will take place across the region this fall.
The annual event raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. According to the association, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event of its kind, held in over 600 communities nationwide.
Vince McGrail, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio and Northwest Ohio chapters, emphasized the hope surrounding new treatments for Alzheimer’s and dementia. “Now is the moment we’ve been waiting for,” McGrail said in a statement. “Every step takes us closer to a cure and to achieving our mission of a world without Alzheimer’s and dementia.”
The schedule for the 2025 Walks to End Alzheimer’s in Central Ohio includes:
- Circleville – September 6
- Zanesville – September 13
- Athens – September 21
- Marion – September 27
- Delaware – October 4
- Columbus – October 12
The Alzheimer’s Association encourages individuals and teams to register for the walks and receive updates by visiting the chapter’s Walk website.
The organization reports that nearly 7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s dementia, including 236,200 in Ohio. Additionally, 414,000 Ohio caregivers provide an estimated 624 million hours of unpaid care annually, valued at over $11.4 billion.
