WALDO, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A heroic rescue took place in the Myrtle Beach area recently when FMFD (Fort Morrow Fire District)Assistant Chief Ryan Mitchell saved a man’s life.

While on vacation with his family, Chief Mitchell witnessed several people pulling a man out of the ocean who had suffered a seizure and become unresponsive.

Chief Mitchell quickly sprang into action, discovering the man was not breathing and had no pulse. With his quick thinking and training, he began performing CPR on the man and was able to successfully revive him.

The Chief continued to provide care until local medics arrived on the scene to take over.

Thanks to Chief Mitchell’s quick response and life-saving skills, the man was able to receive the medical attention he needed. The community is grateful for Chief Mitchell’s bravery and heroism in this situation.  Chief Mitchell truly exemplifies the dedication and skill of our emergency responders.
