WYANDOT COUNTY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash involving two commercial trucks that occurred late Thursday night in Wyandot County.

The accident took place at approximately 10:25 p.m. on Feb. 19 on U.S. 23 southbound, north of Township Road 103.

According to investigators, Martin A. Montoya, 37, of Torrance, California, was outside of his white 2020 Volvo semi-tractor trailer, which was disabled and parked on the right berm. Montoya was standing near the white edge line on the left side of his tractor with the side access panel door open.

Montoya was pronounced dead at the scene. Veiza was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay for treatment of possible minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol stated that alcohol and drugs are not suspected factors in the crash, and next of kin have been notified. Assisting at the scene were the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, Carey Fire Department, Upper Sandusky EMS, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation.
