COLUMBUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—In his State of the State address today, Governor Mike DeWine underscored his administration’s commitment to safeguarding Ohio’s children and fostering an environment conducive to their full potential.

“Counties play a pivotal role in nurturing and protecting Ohio’s children through child protective services, job and family services, behavioral health services, and public safety,” said Chris Abbuhl, President of the County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) and Tuscarawas County Commissioner.

The DeWine-Husted Administration has emerged as a strong ally for counties in delivering these services, aiming to create communities where Ohio’s children can thrive. This partnership is crucial in ensuring the welfare of children across the state.

The CCAO anticipates continued collaboration with the DeWine-Husted Administration and the General Assembly. The focus will be on the implementation of the programs announced today, which align with our shared goal of providing healthy, safe environments for Ohio’s children in all 88 counties.
