SANDUSKY, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Cedar Point is set to host its annual tribute to the park’s signature snack with the return of Happy Friar’s Fresh-Cut Fries Fest from Sept. 5-7. The event will feature four limited-time fry recipes, available at both Happy Friar and Hot Potato locations.
Since 1942, Cedar Point’s fresh-cut fries have been a staple for park visitors. This year’s festival will highlight new culinary creations alongside classic favorites like Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Original, and Chili & Cheese Fresh-Cut Fries.
The newly-remodeled Happy Friar stand, located near the Gemini roller coaster, will serve two exclusive dishes: Chipotle Chicken Fresh-Cut Fries, topped with shredded smoked chipotle chicken, white queso cheese and jalapeños, and Smokehouse Fresh-Cut Fries, featuring smoked pulled pork and house-made barbecue sauce.
At the Hot Potato stand near the Raptor, guests can try the Supreme Pizza Fresh-Cut Fries, which include diced pepperoni, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese, as well as Cheeseburger Fresh-Cut Fries, made with sloppy joe ground beef, cheddar cheese sauce and pickles.
A fan-favorite park mascot, the Happy Friar, will also be making appearances throughout the weekend. Guests can meet the “fry-con” for photos at the Happy Friar stand each day from 12-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
