MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A cold weather advisory remains in effect from 1 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Wednesday for portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Ohio, as well as northwest Pennsylvania.
What to Expect:
- Very cold wind chills as low as 24 below zero are expected.
- Low temperatures tonight into Monday morning will be in the single digits, with wind chill values as low as 20 below.
- Low temperatures Monday night into Tuesday morning will range from 5 above to 5 below zero, with wind chill values as low as 20 below.
- The coldest temperatures are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, ranging from zero to 13 below zero, with wind chill values as cold as 24 below.
Impacts:
- The extreme cold could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
- Prolonged exposure to these wind chill values can lead to hypothermia.
Precautionary Measures:
- Dress in layers, including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside.
- To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap or drain them, or allow them to drip slowly.
- Keep pets indoors as much as possible and ensure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and unfrozen water.
