MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) proudly participated in this year’s Coldest Night Walk, a significant community event aimed at raising awareness and funds for the Marion Homeless Shelter. Teams of walkers, including dedicated volunteers, braved the frigid streets of downtown Marion to shed light on the challenges faced by the city’s homeless population, especially during the harsh winter months.

The Coldest Night event not only raises awareness but also generates essential funds for the Marion Homeless Shelter, which provides shelter and support to individuals in need throughout the winter season.

“The Coldest Night Walk is a powerful reminder of the struggles faced by our homeless neighbors in Marion,” said a representative from MACC. “As volunteers, we’re honored to be part of this initiative and help raise both awareness and resources for such an important cause.”

The event’s success was made possible through the support of local businesses and organizations, including Marion Panini and Soup Truck, Pop’nRoll’n, Heartland Hospice, Starbucks, Peacock Water, Marion Area Chamber of Commerce, and Kingston Residence of Marion.

“We are deeply grateful to all our community partners,” said a spokesperson for the Marion Homeless Shelter. “Their support helps us continue our mission of providing care and shelter for those facing homelessness in Marion.”

The Coldest Night Walk underscored the importance of community engagement in addressing homelessness, serving as a reminder that together, we can make a lasting impact in the fight against homelessness.
