MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Mayor Bill Collins recently announced that the construction of the Leisure Path/Bike Path trail is officially underway in Marion. This project made possible through a partnership with Regional Planning, the City of Marion, and the Marion City Council, has secured grant funding aimed at enhancing the community’s access to Lincoln Park. The current construction marks Phase 1 of a comprehensive four-phase plan designed to create a complete loop around Lincoln Park. Once completed, this trail will provide residents with a safe and enjoyable route to travel from the Oak Street entrance or the North Prospect Street entrance directly to the Aquatic Center.

Mayor Collins expressed excitement about this expansion, stating, “We are thrilled to enhance Lincoln Park with this new trail and hope the community shares in our enthusiasm.” The city plans to continue leveraging grant opportunities to fund the subsequent phases of the project, ensuring the completion of the loop for all to enjoy.
