MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion Police Department is hosting its first-ever Cops & Teens Basketball Tournament, inviting local high school students to compete against police officers in a friendly competition.

The tournament is scheduled for April 28 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Rec Center, located at 240 West Church Street.

The event aims to build community connections through sports and interaction between law enforcement and area teens. Students in grades 9 through 12 are invited to participate in an evening of basketball games, music, and pizza.

Registration is required and must be completed by a legal guardian in person at either the Marion Family YMCA or The Rec Center by April 26. The tournament is free for all participating teens.

The event will feature competition between police officers and students, with the winning team taking home the championship title.
