Danny M. Karcher, age 79, of Nevada, Ohio, passed away at 1:09 PM on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Walnut Crossing in Marysville, Ohio.

Danny was born in Mifflin Township, on April 29, 1944, to Joseph Nelson and Winona (Swartz) Karcher. He was married to Nancy Ann Karcher in 1976, and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2020.

Danny is survived by his son Daniel (Erica) Karcher of Marysville, stepson Steven Benson of Nevada, grandchildren, Savanah, Riley, and McKenzie Karcher, Levi and Kendra Benson, and Chase Benson, great grandchildren Emery Willow and Kenny, and a daughter in law Terri Benson of LaRue.

Danny is also survived by his 3 brothers, Richard Karcher of Forest, Charles (Janice) Karcher of Nevada, and Roger (Mia) Karcher of Sycamore, and 4 sisters, Jane Cooley of Kenton, Ellen Hastings of Kenton, Phyllis Chance of Upper Sandusky, and Ruby Karcher of Upper Sandusky.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, stepson Troy Benson, 3 brothers, Raymond, Nelson Jr., and Lloyd Karcher, and his sister Joyce Vogel.

Danny attended school in Bloomville. He quit school in junior high to help run the family farm. Danny loved working on the farm with his son Daniel. He loved raising and taking care of the animals. He also worked for Stiger Precast in Wyandot, and then worked for Byrd Vault Company for many years. In his retirement, Danny was the caretaker for Nevada Cemetery for many years and took great care of the cemetery.

Danny was aways a jokester and always had a smile on his face. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed teasing his grandchildren.

A funeral service for Danny Karcher will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Rev. Rorke Warne. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.

Visitations will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
