Denise Leann Meddings, age 51, of Marion, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024.

Denise was born December 5, 1972, in Marion, the daughter of Keith and Gaye (Varner) Rasey. She graduated in 1991 from Ridgedale High School. She married Michael Meddings on October 24, 1992, at the Mt. Vernon Avenue Church of Christ in Marion.

Denise started her career as an STNA at a retirement facility. This work inspired her to earn her nursing degree from Tri-Rivers Adult Education for Nursing. She began working with the American Red Cross and moved into her role as supervisor for 8 years. She continued her career in healthcare for 25 years, ultimately working in Primary Care at Avita Health Systems for Dr. John Nirmalnath.

Denise and her family enjoyed camping in Ohio, West Virginia, and Tennessee. They loved visiting beaches along the Gulf Coast.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 32 years, Michael Meddings; her children, Tess Meddings of Marion and Cy Meddings of Marion; her father, Keith (Peggy) Rasey of Marion; her fur babies, Lily, her black lab, and Josie, her basset mix; her brother, Dan (Christina) Rasey of Prospect; her sister, Janine (William) Bright of Marion; her brother and sister in laws, Randy (Shannon) Meddings of Marion, and Kemberly (Fred) Zoeller of Tiffin; and her aunts Becky Varner of Marion, Yolande (Harley) Roston of Piketon, Sharon King of Arkansas, and Linda Varner of Kenton.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gaye Rasey; her grandparents, Don & Lydia Rasey and Guy & Ruth Varner; her uncles, Mike Varner, and Duane Rasey; her aunts, Phyllis Moore, Sheila Minor, Jeanne Daso; and her father & mother-in-law, Robert & Linda Meddings.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 12 pm to 2 pm at Caledonia Church of Christ, 300 N. Main St.,

Caledonia, Ohio. Celebration of Life services will begin at 2 pm at the church, with David Kessell and David Braxton officiating.
