MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities (MCBDD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Emily Meadows as a new board member. Dr. Meadows will fill an unexpired term, which concludes in December 2025.
A Distinguished Background
Dr. Meadows brings a wealth of expertise to her role. She holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Toledo and earned her MA in Clinical Psychology from the same institution. Her undergraduate studies were equally impressive, as she graduated with Research Distinction in Psychology from The Ohio State University.
Recently, Dr. Meadows achieved certification as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist through the Ohio Board of Psychology. Her commitment to excellence extends beyond academia, with notable clinical and training accolades under her belt.
Navigating Systems for Optimal Care
As a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Meadows collaborates with the Marion County Family Court and the Family Resource Center. Her work revolves around coordinating systems to provide the best care for youth and families. She emphasizes the importance of meeting individual and family needs to support mental health and overall well-being.
“Having specialized and intensive knowledge in the delivery of psychological interventions and direct experience navigating our systems of care in Marion County, I hope to add to the existing expertise of MCBDD,” Dr. Meadows stated.
A Commitment to Community
Dr. Meadows is enthusiastic about her role as a board member. “The County Board of DD is such an impactful and meaningful organization for those in our community,” she said. “Serving on the board is a strong means of supporting Marion as a whole and ensuring that services for those who most need support are available and accessible.”
Cheryl Plaster, superintendent of the Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities, expressed her excitement about Dr. Meadows’s appointment. “Having a board member with Dr. Meadows’s extensive behavioral health background is an invaluable addition to our team,” Plaster said. “We look forward to her expertise and fresh perspective so we can better serve those in our community with developmental disabilities who also have behavioral and mental health challenges.”
Life Beyond the Boardroom
When not contributing to the community, Dr. Meadows enjoys spending time with her family. She resides in Marion County with her husband, two-year-old son, and two French Bulldogs. Their favorite activities include camping, hiking, and appreciating the beauty of nature during the sunny Ohio summers.
