MARION, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)— A devastating fire that broke out in the Colonial Acres subdivision early Tuesday morning has left a family homeless and without any of their belongings. The residence at 1126 Colonial Acres has been completely destroyed.
Fortunately, Cadence and Kory Kirk, along with their five and nine-year-old daughters and their pets, were able to escape the fire unharmed. However, they were unable to salvage any of their possessions. The family is currently separated, as the American Red Cross could only provide a $600.00 clothing voucher and was unable to assist with finding shelter that would allow them to stay together.
Although the family has found a rental property that will be available in a week, they will remain separated in the meantime, staying with family and friends. Ashley Furniture in Marion has generously offered to provide beds for the family.
To support the Kirk family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been set up at gofund.me/e608b2bf. Immediate donations of clothing are greatly appreciated, with the girls needing sizes 6 Toddler and 11/12, and the parents requiring men’s 3x shirts/sweats and women’s size 7 pants and medium tops. Donations can be dropped off at 320 Uhler Ave. in Marion.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
