Ethel Edna (Blevins) Jones, 95, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 1:04am in her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Ethel was born to the late George W. and Madge (Stevens) Blevins on May 29, 1929, in Greenup, Kentucky. Ethel would marry James E. Jones, but would sadly become a gold star widow as James was killed in the Korean War in 1951.

In Ethel’s 95 beautiful years she worked as a mail clerk for the Marion Star Newspaper for 20 years before retiring. She was the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could ask for.

Ether was preceded in death by son, Robert Alan Jones, son-in-law, Keith Allan Brammer, grandson, James Everett Jones, and sister, Francis Newell.

Left to cherish Ethel’s memory are daughter, Gloria Jean Brammer, sons, Stephen E. Jones and George Walter (Rebecca Kaye) Jones, as well as his former wife, Tina Jones, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and their nursing and pastoral staff.
