MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Troopers from the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Monday around 4:00 PM on State Route 4, north of Marseilles Galion Road in Marion County.

The incident involved a 2021 Ford F150, which was towing a livestock trailer and driven by 78-year-old Charles E. Foust of Marion, Ohio.

Also involved was a Concord bicycle operated by 64-year-old Jeffrey A. Arn from Bucyrus, Ohio, and a 2024 Ford Bronco driven by 29-year-old Tabitha A. Burson, also from Marion.

Preliminary investigations suggest that Foust and Burson were traveling southbound on State Route 4, while Arn was riding southbound on the gravel berm on the west side of the road.

Reports indicate that Arn swerved to the left, struck the west edge of State Route 4, and entered the roadway, where he was subsequently struck by Foust’s vehicle.
Debris from the collision also impacted Burson’s vehicle, though it was not directly struck.

Arn was transported from the scene by Marion Township EMS to Marion General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Foust reported no injuries from the crash, and there were no injuries to Burson or the two juveniles who were passengers in the Bronco.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol received assistance on the scene from Marion Township Fire and EMS, Salt Rock Township EMS, and Kirby’s Towing.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
