MIAMI, FL (MARION COUNTY NOW)—Daniel Kalmbach, a former Republican candidate for Ohio House District 69, is facing serious legal trouble after being charged with two felonies: battery by strangulation and false imprisonment. The charges stem from an arrest made in February in Miami, where a police lethality screening reportedly indicated that the victim was in a “potential lethal situation.”

Kalmbach, who is the son of Paul Kalmbach, CEO of Kalmbach Feeds in Upper Sandusky, has denied the charges, pleading not guilty in court. His political campaign for the 2024 election has also drawn attention due to financial connections with State Rep. Gary Click (R-Vickery), who contributed $1,000 to Kalmbach’s campaign. Records indicate a reciprocal financial relationship between the Kalmbach family and Click’s campaign.
