BUCYRUS, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—A former Buckeye Central custodian and school bus driver, who is currently serving a 54-month prison sentence for three counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor or impaired individual, returned to the Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday to face new charges.
Chet Cobb, 45, formerly of Galion, was arraigned on three new charges of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor or impaired individual. Each second-degree felony carries a punishment of up to 8 years in prison. The victims in this newest case are reported to be Cobb’s relatives.
Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Hoovler informed the court that given Cobb’s current imprisonment, the State would request a recognizance bond with the condition that Cobb must have no contact with the victims or any witnesses connected to the case.
Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold entered a not-guilty plea on Cobb’s behalf and ordered the State’s bond conditions enforced.
Leuthold reappointed attorney Ed Bibler to represent Cobb. A pretrial will be scheduled in the near future.
Crawford County Now will continue to provide updates on this developing story.
