MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State University at Marion, in partnership with Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen, will host Marion Microfarm Coordinator and owner of Gracie’s Botanicals, Grace Hand, for a discussion titled “A Gardener’s Guide to Growing in Ohio.” The event will take place at the Dock at Bucci’s on Tuesday, February 11, at 5:30 p.m. as part of the monthly lecture series, Lectures on Tap.

Hand, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a specialization in horticulture from The Ohio State University, acknowledges the overwhelming amount of gardening information available online. “It can be a bit overwhelming whether you’re an experienced gardener, or brand new to the hobby,” she said.

During her lecture, Hand will focus on the basics to help gardeners make informed decisions and plan for the upcoming growing season. She will also share her favorite tips, tools, and resources for creating a garden that suits individual lifestyles.

Lectures on Tap features Ohio State faculty and community experts discussing a wide range of topics, including the environment, astronomy, agronomy, health and wellness, linguistics, crime, and more. The goal is to foster casual, open discussions between the campus and the community on thought-provoking subjects.

Attendees are encouraged to eat, drink, and relax during the event. Doors open at 5 p.m. for food and drink orders, with the lecture starting at 5:30 p.m. and a question-and-answer session at 6 p.m. Join this lively discussion while enjoying dinner, an appetizer, or a drink.
