Harry M. Koge, age 79, passed away on December 24th, 2023 at home after a long battle with health issues.

The youngest of 11 children. He was born to the late Asao and Sentaro Koge in Hilo, Hawaii on November 28, 1944.

He married Cynthia McKinniss on January 31, 1974 in Galion, Ohio and she survives.

Harry proudly served in the United States Army from 1962 to 1965 which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He received 15 Air Medals and a Purple Heart while in the line of duty.

He spent 50 years working in the telecommunications industry retiring in 2005 from Sprint Telephone Company.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters, sister and brother-in-laws and a daughter-in-law.

He is survived by his 4 sons. Kevin (late Deana) of Galion, Kelsey (Jennifer) of Bucyrus, Ken (Kimberly) of Bucyrus and Kerwen (Kimberly S.) of Bucyrus.  He is also survived by grandchildren; Koltyn, Kentyn, Karlee, Kendra, Harley, Landon, Karter, Kelson, Aidan, Briana, Koyer and 5 great grandchildren. A sister, Janet and brothers Kaz and Maso, all in Hawaii. Sister-in-law Cathy (Alan) Price of Crestline.

Harry loved to spend time with his family. He especially enjoyed watching them play any type of sport.

Following his wishes, there will not be a funeral service. A Memorial Dinner will be held on Sunday, January 7th at the Galion V.F.W. Post 4329 at 229 S. Market St. from 2-5pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the V.F.W. Auxiliary #4329 to be used to support area Veterans in need.
