MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The vision for a revitalized downtown Marion reached a new milestone Wednesday as Henry Development Group (HDG) hosted a ribbon cutting and open house for its latest project, Lydia Lofts.
Located at 117 E. Church St., the Lydia Lofts project represents the adaptive reuse of an early 20th-century building. The renovation was designed to preserve the structure’s historic architectural character while introducing modern-day amenities and open-concept living spaces.
“We are floored by the turnout of this ribbon cutting and our open house,” the Henry Development Group said in a statement. “So much hard work from our team has been poured into this project for a long time. We’re ready to welcome you to the next chapter of downtown living.”
Beyond providing long-term residential apartments, the development includes unique short-term stay options. These units are intended to allow visitors to immerse themselves in the downtown atmosphere, providing easy access to local restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues.
The project aligns with Henry Development Group’s broader mission to restore commercial storefronts, office spaces, and residential lofts to foster a thriving urban community. By connecting historic buildings with modern-day uses, the group continues to bring renewed energy to Marion’s downtown corridor.
During the Feb. 11 event, community members toured the newly finished spaces, enjoying refreshments and exploring the blend of historic charm and contemporary design that defines the new development.
