MARION, OH (MARION COUNTY NOW)—The holiday season in Marion County will kick off Nov. 25 with the second installment of the Downtown Marion Lighted Christmas Parade.

Downtown Marion, Inc. and Advantage Early Learning Academy are presenting the parade which has a theme of “Candy Cane Wonderland.” Individuals, businesses, and organizations entering units in the parade this year are being asked to decorate vehicles with lights following the theme.

The inaugural year of the parade, which features all types of vehicles from pickup trucks and SUVs to commercial and governmental vehicles, attracted a large number of participating units and a big crowd in excess of 2,000 people lining the streets of downtown Marion.

The parade is scheduled to roll out at 6 p.m. on Nov. 25 along Center Street in downtown Marion and end at Founders Park, where the community Christmas tree will be lighted for the season.
