Jean Marylin Hush, age 96 of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at the Danbury of Huber Heights.
Jean was born March 7, 1928 in Marion, the daughter of Ernest Albert and Jessie Elizabeth (Calvert) Brown. She was educated in Marion.

On June 11, 1963 she was united in marriage to Walter William Hush, Sr.

Jean served the Kettering city school district in food service, brightening the day of countless children over her many years at the school. She enjoyed being at home reading ghost stories, doing word search games, watching old movies and the Hallmark channel. She loved garage sales and collecting chickens, hummingbirds, and antique glass bottles. Time spent with her family cooking and caring for them were among her favorite memories. Her proudest achievement was that of being a mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children: Mary (Kevin) Bailey, Brian Patton, and Walter William Hush Jr., grandson Patrick Curl, and granddaughter Angel Bailey, both of whom she helped raise, as well as 14 more beloved grandchildren and many more great grandchildren.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter William Hush, Sr.; children: Gloria Patton, Joyce Sherman, Brenda Chotkey, Rowena Rutherford, and David Hush; and 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Graveside service will be Friday, June 14, 2024 at Grand Prairie Cemetery, 4964 Brush Ridge Dr N, Marion at 2PM; friends may gather at the front gate at 1:45PM.
